The Singapore Schools contingent surpassed its past performances, winning a total of 79 medals - 26 Gold, 22 Silver, and 31 Bronze. Indonesia is the host for the next ASG in 2012.
a) Why do you think students should be actively engaged in sports?
Student should be actively engaged in sports because it will keep them fit and healthy and will allow them to interact with other people so as to work and corporate better. They will also understand the meaning of teamwork and perseverance. They will also learn about sportsmanship which is an attitude of athletes that strives for fair play, courtesy toward team mates and opponents.
They will also gain a better understanding of their friends by working with them. By playing sports they will learn how to lead a team and gain leadership skill. Training for sports need a lot of commitment and effort also.
b) If you had the opportunity to learn a new sport what would it be? Why?
I would learn badminton, because it is simple game. Badminton is a game that requires perseverance as they need to hit the shuttlecock back and forth. In doubles, Badminton requires a lot of cooperation from your teammate and oneself because if the other player can not communicate well with his or her partner they will end up hitting each other with the racket. Badminton is a simple game with few rules to follow thus allowing more freedom for me. Badminton is also a game that requires a lot of focus. Overall, Badminton is simple yet challenging at the same time.

Day 1 E-Learning(Eng)

http://www.straitstimes.com/Beijing-2008/Latest%2BNews/Story/STIStory_277055.html
“What do you think you can learn from Laurentia? How is this applicable in your life as a student?”
Even with all those medical condition Laurentia still followed her dream. As students , we should follow her example and follow our dream and persevere.Even with the most severe disabilities she managed to win the bronze medal . This show that nothing is impossible and we can do it if we try. As long as we put effort in what we are doing we will succeed. As a student when facing a difficult question we should revise and study more so that we can give the correct answer. By persevering we will try and try until we get the answer. It is the same in physical education when we are losing we should not give up easily and try our best.
